WHAT IS NATIONAL FAMILY GAME NIGHT FOR BLACK & BROWN FAMILIES?

The National Family Game Night is a fun, and interactive game night the whole family can enjoy! It is for children (and adults) of all ages.

The National Family Game Night is a movement to celebrate black wealth and black game developers. For far too long black wealth and black game developers have been ignored. We are on a mission to shed light on both. National Family Night will offer families a unique experience to celebrate black history. Those interested are encouraged to sign up at https://NationalFamilyGameNight.com to participate in the event.

WHY WAS NATIONAL FAMILY GAME NIGHT CREATED?

We are living through racism, high racial tension, and a pandemic, and we know that we (Black and Brown families) will be negatively impacted greater than other communities. I am sorry and frustrated that we have to face such harsh realities, and I also know we will survive and thrive because we are DOPE.

Now, more than ever, we must add fun and family discussions so that we stay vigilant and teach our families and children how to thrive and build generational wealth.

Who Founded National Family Game Night?

Ruby L. Taylor, M.S.W. a double HBCU alumna, is on a mission to close the racial wealth gap and have fun. Ruby is a graduate of Virginia Union University and Howard University. She has been featured in national publications like Inc. magazine, Inc.com, TheUndefeated.com, MADAMENOIRE.com, and BLAVITY.com.

Ruby is originally from The Bronx, NY and currently calls Baltimore City home along with her family. Ruby is also the creator of “LEGACY! Card Game” a game that inspires Black and Brown youth and families to build generational wealth.

Celebrating The History of Black Wealth

On April 3rd, in 1889, the first Black owned bank in the United States of America in Richmond, Virginia was charted “The True Reformers Bank”. It was founded by The Grand Fountain of the United Order of True Reformers and led by Reverend William Washington Browne.

The Grand Fountain of the United Order of True Reformers was one of the largest and most successful Black business enterprises in the United States. We want to go back to our past in order to bring this legacy to our future.
